Completely wireless earphones are convenient when you want to thoroughly enjoy music or concentrate on an online meeting, but wireless headphones are superior when it comes to the richness of the sound and the feeling of wearing them for long periods of time. In particular, recent over-ear headphones have improved noise-cancelling performance and become lighter in weight, and the number of models that are easier to use on a daily basis is increasing. This time, we will introduce a comparison of the latest wireless headphones and how to choose them, focusing on sound quality and wearing comfort.
When it comes to choosing headphones, the two giants in the industry are Sony’s WH-1000XM5 and Bose’s QuietComfort Ultra Headphones.
Sony’s WH-1000XM5 is attractive for its high resolution that brings out the full potential of high-resolution sound sources and its well-balanced and clear sound quality. The noise canceling performance is also very high, and the effectiveness is automatically adjusted according to the environment. The design is sophisticated, and the adjustable slider fits snugly to your head.
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra, on the other hand, is characterized by overwhelming noise cancellation and powerful, rich bass. What is noteworthy is its “feel of fit.” The ear pads are extremely soft and the lateral pressure (the force that pinches your ears) is exquisitely adjusted, so your ears won’t hurt even if you wear them for long periods of time, which is a unique Bose strength.
AirPods Max is also a strong option for those who are immersed in the Apple ecosystem. Although it is heavy, it has a luxurious build quality using aluminum and stainless steel, and the spatial audio creates a movie theater-like stereophonic sound that is a unique experience.
For those who want to keep costs down, Anker’s “Soundcore Space Q45” is priced in the 10,000 yen range but supports excellent ANC and high-resolution playback, making it an excellent value for money.
Find the one that will give you the best music experience by paying attention to your preferred sound quality and whether it suits the shape of your head and ears.
